The executive car from the house of Audi, A6 was first introduced in the model year 2005. It is offered in Avant and Saloon body styles. It is offered in either Torsen based Quattro permanent 4-wheel drive or in front wheel drive. It is related to Audi S6 and Audi RS6 versions.

First Generation (2005-Present)

The initial Audi A6 model is designed and built based on the Volkswagen Group C6 platform. The predecessor model to the A6 version is Audi C5.

Available engines to the model include 2.0 liter I-4 turbo, 2.4 liter V6, 2.8 liter V6 FSI, 3.2 liter V6, 4.2L V8 and 3.0 L V6 TDI. The transmissions available to the engines include 6-speed manual, 7-speed multitronic CVT and 6-speed tiptronic automatic.

As far as the exterior dimensions of the Audi A6 model are concerned, it has the wheel base of 111.9 inches, length of 194.0 inches, width of 73.0 inches and height of 57.4 inches. The curb weight of the model is around 4067 lbs.

The current generation Audi A6 model is designed by Walter de’Silva. Most notable feature in the model is Multi Media interface, which controls satellite navigation, car settings, climate control and entertainment system. This also reduces the number of buttons.
