The less expensive car, Audi A6, from the German car maker, Audi, is offered in two body styles, the Wagon and the sedan. The 2002 Audi A6 gets powerful V6 engine, revised styling and a CVT transmission as new.

Engine

The 2.8 liter engine used in the previous version is replaced by the new 3.0 liter model that produces additional 20 hp. The 3.0 liter V6 engine can deliver power up to 220 hp at an angular speed of 6300 rpm and torque of 221 lb ft at 3200 rpm. The other engines available to the 2002 Audi A6 model include a 2.7 liter turbocharged V6 engine that can produce power up to 250 hp at 5800 rpm and torque of 258 lb ft at 1850 rpm and a 4.2 liter V8 model that can deliver 300 hp and torque of 295 lb ft.

Transmission

The three transmissions are offered, the 6-speed manual, 5-speed automatic and a CVT transmission. The fuel economy figures by the model are 17 and 25 miles per gallon in the city and on the highway roads respectively.

The dimensions of the four door sedan model, 2002 Audi A6 are unchanged in this generation and the major competitors to the sedan model include BMW 3 Series, Mercedes Benz E-Class, Cadillac DeVille and Lexus GS 300.
