New 2005 Audi A6

The prologue of the 2005 Audi A6 was a significant event in the history of Audi. It was a severe attack on throne of BMW, and ended their monopoly in the luxury car segment by gaining loads of name and fame.

Differences from its Predecessor

The 2005 Audi A6 could be easily differentiated from its predecessor, and the modified features were a consolidated engine that comprised of 2 power trains – the top-of-the-line 4.2-liter V8 engine and a base 3.2-liter V6 engine.

Better Mileage with Greater Power; Really?

Among these two engines, 4.2-liter V8 engine bigger and better than the 3.2-liter V6; of course costlier too. This bigger engine is used in even the present Audi S4 super sedan, whereas the smaller engine was designed with direct injection to achieve a match of two contradictory aspects; better mileage and additional horsepower.

New Direction Multi-Point Injection

With direct injection, fuel being fired right into the cylinder, Audi could see that It could easily combine some more high performance features and dominate the market in upcoming times. The new 2005 Audi A6 came with V6 engine that gave 243 pound-feet of torque and 255 horsepower.

It had a decent fuel economy of about 19 mpg in the city traffic, and 26 mpg on smooth highway tracks.
